Product Description

Live the Dream!  Join the Chaplin School for a 16 night transatlantic cruise from Miami to Denmark on Norwegian Getaway.  Port stops include in the Azores (Portugal), Brest (France), Southampton/ London (England), Bruges/ Brussels (Belgium), Rotterdam (Netherlands) and Copenhagen (Denmark).  The trip includes cruise expenses plus one hotel night in Copenhagen.

PROGRAM DATES

April 30 – May 17, 2017

PROGRAM FEE – $1,303
Program fee includes the 16-night Transatlantic cruise, inside cabin with double occupancy, meals, taxes, pre-paid gratuities.  One night hotel stay in Copenhagen, Denmark, is included.

Does not include optional beverages, dining upgrades, shore excursions, laundry, and other optional services aboard ship, return airfare from Europe, any expenses after docking in Denmark (besides 1 night of accommodations), or the $175 study abroad fee.  FIU tuition is additional, but at in-state rates for all students. Each student takes one course, which is conducted during days at sea.

COURSES (choose 1 for 3 credits)

HFT 3727 –   Travel Industry Law
HFT 3770 – Cruise Line Operations & Management
HMG 6228 -Managing Self and Others in the Hospitality Industry
HMG 6605 – Legislation and the Hospitality Industry

Each student takes one course, which is conducted during days at sea.

This cruise course may be followed by another FIU Study Abroad course in Europe.  Watch for further information on these programs on the study abroad website.

Friends and family may join the cruise, if space is available, but are not part of the FIU Study Abroad Program.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE

The online application (under construction)  is due by October 6.

Students will be notified by fiumail from the Faculty Director if accepted into the program.

Students who are not accepted will be placed on a Waiting List in case an opening becomes available.

PAYMENTS

Total cruise price is $1,303 — see excluded items above.

10/06/16            Sign-up deadline, with $300 Deposit; $150 is refundable if cancelled before 11/06/16

11/06/16            Payment of $175 Study Abroad Fee (paid through this site); The $175 Study Abroad Fee is non-refundable

11/21/16            Payment of $650 due; Refund of $500 only if replacement student is found

1/09/17              Payment due for balance of $353; No refunds after this date

REFUND POLICY
$150 of the $300 deposit is refundable if cancellation is received before 11/6/16.

From  11/6/16 through 1/8/17, there will be no refunds unless a replacement student is found and accepted by the cruise line.

No refunds after 1/9/17.
